The Thames Vintage Boat Club was founded at Old Windsor in March 1983 to provide a club and forum for all types of traditionally built craft; to seek to encourage their restoration, maintenance, and above all, their use, and also to produce and maintain an historical record of all traditional craft on the river Thames.
The Thames Traditional Boat Festival is held annually in July. It features the largest display of traditional boats in Europe, a celebration of all that's best in boatbuilding and craftsmanship evoking the nostalgia of boating from a bygone era.
River Thames Stream Conditions is hosted by the Environment Agency and provides current advice to river users as to stream conditions of all non-tidal reaches of the Thames.
Stanley & Thomas Boatbuilders have been established in Windsor since 1983. Located at Romney Lock in a lovely setting opposite Eton College and in the shadow of Windsor Castle, they offer full boatyard facilities with particular emphasis on tarditional wooden craft, including boat sales.
