When the Star Craft Owners' Club was founded in 1993, the founders had in mind the following objectives:

• To form an association of all Bates Star Craft and their owners (present and past) and other interested parties, and to complile a register of all surviving Star Craft and their locations.

• To recognise the quality of the vessels, all of which were built prior to 1976, and to perpetuate their image by maintenane of that standard.

• To draw on the experience and knowledge of members for the benfit of all.

• To develop a spirit of good fellowship among members which would be enhanced by the presence of Star Craft at leading events on the Thames and elsewhere.
